What should I do? Gap year ideas.

What Should I do?

Are you at an intersection in your life? Maybe just an awkward pause and not sure what to do next? Or are you just tired of working and want to do something more exciting with your life? It sounds like you need to take a Gap year! If you are aged 18-25 and a follower of Jesus then you are most likely eligible for these programs:

The World Race

The world race gap year sounds like a lot of adventure! For people aged 18-22, backpack across continents and learn more about God! This is a 9 month program that involves staying 3 months in 3 different countries, there are multiple routes that each involve different countries, sign up now before they are all full!

The NEXT program

Camp Homewood has a new program called 'NEXT'. I lived at camp Homewood for a year and a half and would say it is a lovely place to get to know God and hone your leadership skills. Live on the beautiful coast of Quadra island BC, Canada and find out what God wants you to do 'next' with your life :)

Surf The Nations

Surfing the nations is a very unique ministry that involves surf camp around the world. Their internships seem to be quite short (3 months) which would work perfect if you want to take a semester off school!

Metro World Child

Metro world child has two internship programs, one in New York city, and the other in the Philippines. Learn how to 'take the word to the streets' by teaching Sunday school to inner city kids in New York or kids who live in slums in the Philippines.

Trek

Open to singles, couples, and families who are over 20. Do a 2 month discipleship training then minister overseas for 3 or 7 months!

YWAM is a full time program that usually last 5-6 months. There is a lecture phase and an outreach phase. There are over 200 DTS locations around the world to choose from!

There are many MANY more gap year options that i have not highlighted here, I will try to do another post at a later time. I hope you will consider taking a break from your busy life to see what God is doing in other places and become involved!
