My favorite part of facebook

Facebook gets a lot of hate. Really, if you think about what it physically entails it is strange  how much of our worlds population sits and stares at a box for long periods of time each day. As a Christian person, can I really justify this massive waste of time? Can I be glorifying God in all this? Or should I go hide under a rock and resist technology for the rest of eternity?

Luckily, I am not really going to answer any of those questions ;)

I have noticed a new (?) trending post that goes something along these line:

"I am sick of all these negative posts on Facebook and and want to offset them with this photo of a cute animal"
(Baby skunks!!!)
I have to admit, I like this idea. I like seeing cute baby animals. I find them much more interesting than the crude memes and links that usually litter my news feed. But they are not really accomplishing anything.
Scrolling through Facebook usually goes something like this:

"Oh weird they are dating now hmmm, aw a baby fox! Ahhh, well sadly I can never erase that from my memory, oh no please don't post pictures like that- I really never wanted to see that much of your skin. Oh look a cat eating bacon, ew nope I do not want to know someones thoughts on THAT, uh oh a Facebook fight."

Sadly the baby fox didn't really offset anything. And really, whats with everyone obsessing over bacon and cats?

So what can you do? Its simple really, find some things on Facebook that matter in the real world. Find out what God is doing around the world. Be inspired by miracles, give to the needy, tell your friends about it, get off your computer and go join! These are some of the little faces I see on my news feed, and they make my whole day better. They are my favorite part of Facebook!
